The Commissions on African American, Asian Pacific American, and Hispanic Affairs are hosting a community forum in Spokane on November 5. The facilitators will provide an update on the work of the Task Force on the Use of Deadly Force in Community Policing and gather input from our communities in Spokane.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about available resources to help grow your small business, the benefits of State certification, and preparing to do business with the City of Seattle.

ESSA Consolidated Plan Review

Remember No Child Left Behind? The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) replaced NCLB and Washington State is revising its State Education Plan based on the new law.

During the month of November, you will have an opportunity to learn more about the draft plan and provide public comment on it.

Food System Engagement Events

A thriving food system provides many benefits such as access to healthy, affordable, and culturally appropriate food; economic security to growers, farm workers, processors, distributors; and protections for the environment to sustain ecosystems for future generations.

The Washington State Food System Roundtable is hosting engagement events across the state to collect feedback from diverse community members about their draft plan for a sustainable food system in Washington.
