Commissioners Ekk Sisavatdy and David Phongsa collaborated with the Governor's Office to establish a State Proclamation for Pi Mai, or Lao New Year. Lao New Year (3 -day celebration) marks the beginning of the traditional Lao calendar, following the Buddhist lunisolar system and corresponding to the year 2569 in the Buddhist Era, with water-blessing traditions symbolizing renewal and transformation.
