November Board Meeting Information
The Commission will convene its Public Board Meeting on Saturday, November 20, from 10 AM – 12 PM. Based on guidance from the Department of Health related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) response, the meeting will be held remotely via video conference call. A dial-in option will also be available for those who are unable to access the meeting electronically.

People of Color Legislative Summit
Register now for the 3rd Washington State People of Color Legislative Summit (POCLS). Organizational and/or self-identified community leaders of color across Washington are cordially invited to join us virtually on Saturday, December 4th, 10 AM-1 PM to represent their organizations and identify shared legislative priorities. The summit has 2 main goals:
- to stimulate dialogue between diverse organizations, community leaders, and state legislators of color to build statewide solidarity and mobilizing capacity on the most important issues to our collective communities of color.
- to organize a platform for community leaders of color to develop and push forward our communities’ legislative priorities with the bicameral Black Members Caucus (BMC) and the House and Senate Members of Color Caucuses (MOCC’s).

COFA Health Care Enrollment
Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) was restored for individuals from the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau. This means COFA Islanders living in Washington may now be eligible for Apple Health, including individuals currently enrolled in COFA Islander programs.
If you don’t qualify for Apple Health, you may still apply for COFA Health Care and COFA Dental Care through the Washington Health Care Authority.

Open enrollment, the time of year when Washingtonians can enroll for a health or dental plan through Washington’s insurance marketplace— Washington Healthplanfinder— is underway. You can shop, compare and choose a health plan including 2022 Cascade Care plans on their website during open enrollment now. Their support network is available to help you compare and choose from health plans, gain access to valuable federal assistance and Apple Health, and enroll you today in the plan for your way forward. Vaccine Locator
The COVID-19 vaccine is available to all Washington residents ages 5 and up. If you or a loved one have not yet been vaccinated, there’s an easy way to find vaccinations near you! The Washington State Department of Health has a Vaccine Locator page available, or you can call 1-800-525-0127. Language assistance is available.
