APICAT began organizing as a community coalition in 1997 to address tobacco control issues in the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. Starting with a core group of community leaders, the coalition has grown to over 25 partners in the past several years.
APICAT addresses tobacco control issues within the AAPI community by supporting culturally appropriate prevention, education, and cessation efforts with adults, youth and families. APICAT is also committed to eliminating health disparities impacting diverse communities.
