The Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs is excited to announce the selection of Reyleen Gogo as the 2017 Ruth Woo Fellow. The fellowship is a unique opportunity for currently enrolled students to learn about state government and to gain experience working in the Governor’s Office. September is the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction’s (OSPI) Attendance Awareness Month. As schools begin across the state, OSPI is raising awareness about the importance of regular school attendance. Students miss school for many reasons including illness, lack of transportation, work, homelessness, and family responsibilities. Families understand the importance of education, however, they may not realize how quickly absences from school can add up.
