The Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs is excited to announce the selection of Reyleen Gogo as the 2017 Ruth Woo Fellow. The fellowship is a unique opportunity for currently enrolled students to learn about state government and to gain experience working in the Governor’s Office. The Commission looks forward to working with Reyleen during her fellowship and connecting her with mentors in the community.

Reyleen Gogo was born in San Diego, California. Attracted by the beauty and diverse population of Washington, her family settled in the city of Tukwila. Reyleen graduated of Foster High School, class of 2016, with honors and hoped to join the military afterwards. Her involvement and experiences in leadership as the President of the Polynesian Club and board member of Our Future Matters (OFM) were the turning points that stirred her interest to stay local, serve her community, and pave a career goal in Education.

The state of Washington is conducting a statewide disparity study to determine whether minority women, and veteran-owned businesses have equal access to contracting opportunities on State prime contracts and associated subcontracts for goods and services.
