The Commission is looking to fill a Project Coordinator position in its two-person office. The position works closely with the Executive Director and Commissioners to serve the needs of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in Washington State.

The Office of Governor Jay Inslee, in partnership with the Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs, is recruiting individuals with a commitment to civil rights and equality for the newly launched Ruth Woo Fellowship.
Commission to Meet on June 18 in Wapato
On Saturday, June 18, CAPAA will be convening a public board meeting at Filipino Hall in Wapato. You will have the opportunity to engage with Commissioners and hear about education policies and other issues impacting Asian Pacific American communities.
The public meeting will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., but attendees may arrive or depart at any time. Members of the public will have an opportunity to participate in the Community Forum at 11:50 a.m.

The Commission would like to congratulate Donny Rojo and Ekkarath Sisavatdy, who were appointed to CAPAA by Gov. Inslee effective July 1. In addition, the Governor reappointed Commissioners Lisa Dickinson and Mohan Gurung to another 3-year term.

CAPAA seeking applicants for Fellowship
CAPAA and the Asian Pacific Islander Community Leadership Foundation invites future leaders to apply to their Fellowship program.
This program provides the opportunity to make significant contributions to the state while earning academic credit, exploring career options, and gaining valuable professional experience.
CAPAA Public Board Meeting on January 21
CAPAA will be holding a public board meeting on January 21, 2017 at the General Administration Building in Olympia.
Attendees will have an opportunity to hear about issues impacting Asian Pacific American communities. There will also be time for members of the community to provide public comment and voice their concerns to the Commission.

CAPAA to hold public board meeting in Vancouver
CAPAA will be holding a public board meeting on September 17, 2016, at Clark College in Vancouver.
You will have an opportunity to learn about efforts to ensure health equity for Pacific Islanders, hear updates about the Task Force on Deadly Force in Community Policing, and other issues impacting Asian Pacific American communities. There will also be time for community members to provide public comment and voice their concerns to the Commission.
